Pluto transits through Cancer bring radical changes in the caste-class structure of society. Women become active participants of the political life. The whole vertical of race-class-family-child may become the subject of control and direct intervention by the state.
In the first half of the twentieth century, the Pluto transit through Cancer has led to a radical transformation of the status and role of women in social and political life. Feminist movements were an important conductor of Pluto’s energy in this process.
Feminism gained great momentum already under the influence of Neptune in Cancer, in the first decade of the twentieth century. After Pluto’s ingress in Cancer in 1912, this movement acquired a political nature and became an epicenter of the resonant scandals. Suffrage movement became a key focus of feminism. A new trend in the women’s suffrage movement – militant suffragists – was born in the depths of the Women’s Social and Political Union, created in 1903 by Emmeline Pankhurst. The methods of struggle of militant activists were close to terrorism. Militant suffragettes were smashing windows of government buildings, offices and shops with stones, set fire to houses, broke off the telephone wires, spoiled golf courses and attacked Chambers of parliament.
